roduced by roman flügel and jörn elling wuttke / published by copyright control mastered by dubplates and mastering, recut by stefan betke at scape mastering berlin alter ego recordings is very pleased, to rerelease this acid jesus classic, which is sounding just as fresh as it sounded, when it was released on klang elektronik back in 1997. the record was out of print since over 15 years and the tracks were not availlable on any digital platform. based on a very light, but striking ground construction, roman flügel and jörn elling wuttke leading their listeners over delicate fm-synthesis-sounds, minimal clonky bass patterns and snappy percussions to a long intermission breakdown, which reminds us of a starting boeing 747. where “interstate” plays like an inspired peakhour-jam should, “turkey skank” and “hibernation drive-, on the b-side, take on cooler tones for a headier machine-funk ride. the record was played out by dj’s like andrew weatherall, matthew herbert, luke slater, baby ford, dj hell, ellen allien, sven väth, ricardo villalobos, michael mayer etc.

“a safe place to be naked” is s. fidelity’s debut album, which will be released on may 5th via jakarta records. it features 12 tracks, capturing the producer’s quest for a fresh sound, which he elaborated over the last two years, locked in his tiny basement studio in berlin. evolving from there the he has also released an ep with feelin music in 2014, and “sidekicks”, a joint project with long-term friend and collaborator bluestaeb in 2016. by working with artists like tru thoughts singer harleighblu and label mate juju rogers as well as fellow producers bluestaeb and shuffle jack, his lp “a safe place to be naked” plays with sampled vocals and even his own voice – often distorted, but still present. s. fidelity was born in st. gallen, switzerland, mainly works in berlin and currently resides in london. as a producer he developed a unique and always driving sound, combining sampling techniques and classic beat making with unusual drum patterns, modern synth and atmospheric sound effects. s. fidelity’s laid-back eclecticism is marked by a deep knowledge and fascination for pop culture as a whole. his idea of fresh hiphop references to various genres, including jazz, ambient, disco and electronica. the lp contains an a2 poster & download code.

a new my rules release from the always on-point justin van der volgen featuring two previously unreleased remixes that showcase his varied and unique style. the a-side sees him take both the original and spencer parker remixes found on the the 2016 shit robot single lose control and through editing, blending and layering of fx concocts one serious bomb of a mega mix. think classic dj bootleg remixes on legendary labels like razormaid, disconet and hot tracks. the b-side is an altogether different affair where justin dispenses with all of the original music and only keeps the vocal from felix dickinson s 2014 acid jam burning flame. what comes out the other end sounds like lee perry and murk made a tune once they got back from a sleazy ny after hours. early plays and support from gerd janson, john talabot, tim sweeney. vinyl only.

angelehnt an ein legendäres konzert im mai 2008, bei dem das pariser symphonieorchester les siècles unter seinem dirigenten francois-xavier roth kompositionen des detroiter techno-produzenten carl craig in vollkommen neue klangsphären überführte, erscheint nun das album -versus-, das diese konzeption aufgreift und in perfektion vollendet. dabei wirkt der französische pianist francesco tristano als mediator, der craigs techno-sounds in klassische partitionen transformiert. als zusätzlicher spiritual advisor war carl craigs langjähriger freund und wegbegleiter moritz von oswald an den aufnahmen beteiligt, mit dem er zusammen in 2008 das legendäre -recomposed- album bei der deutschen grammophon veröffentlichte. traditionelle klassik-orchestrierung trifft elektronischen underground-sound.
